FORM AND FRUITION

10 June - 14 August 2016

FORM and FRUITION, an exhibition of new works by Jeff Juhlin, Karolina Maszkiewicz, and Kim Piotrowski. Opposites attract in FORM and FRUITION, a provocative encounter between the work of three American abstract artists. Piotrowski’s explosive colors reverberate against Juhlin’s sensuous surfaces, stirring the tendrils of Maszkiewicz’s elegantly composed kinetic sculpture. Juxtaposing geometry, movement and stillness, these three masters' works culminate in a stimulating rendezvous of form and energy.  Jeff Juhlin works by accumulating layers of material, images and color that make up the whole of a work, and then returns to explore, excavate, expose and obscure. The end result is a nonliteral

visual form, a translation of that experience and process. Juhlin has completed Residency/Fellowships at the Virginia Center for the Arts, and the Moulin Au Neuf, Auvillar France. He has recently been an Artist in Residence at the Hui Art Center in Maui, Hawaii. Juhlin’s work has been featured in several publications including Encaustic with a Textile Sensibility by Daniela Wolf, and Embracing Encaustic by Linda Womack. Juhlin’s work can be found in numerous private, corporate and public collections. He studied at the University of Utah and holds a BFA in drawing and painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. Juhlin maintains studios in Salt Lake City and Torrey, Utah.
